There is not a simple answer to the question of an acne diet.  Some things work for one person, but not for another.  However, a healthy diet is always an advantage.</p>
<p>Doctors suggest that you eat a diet rich in vitamins and minerals that protect and nourish your skin.  This will help with your acne on a long-term basis.  If you eat healthfully, you will not need to worry being bothered by specific foods.  No particular food has been shown to make acne any worse.</p>
<p>Foods rich in Vitamin A will save your skin from daily damage and will help it to do its job as a barrier to bacteria and viruses.  You can get Vitamin A from yellow-orange fruits.  Dark green vegetables are another source of Vitamin A.<br />

The following foods have loads of Vitamin A: apricots, cantaloupe, carrots, kale, parsley, spinach, tomatoes, and yams.  It is not likely that you would eat so many of these foods that you would have a problem.  However, note that Vitamin A can be toxic if you have too much.</p>
<p>If you seem to have more breakouts at times of stress, you might benefit from eating more foods with Vitamin B2.  You can get this nutrient from eggs, fish, leafy green vegetables, meat, milk, and whole grains.  Eating these foods will help your body with the affects of stress.</p>
<p>Vitamin B3 helps your body to use other nutrients such as sugars, fats, and proteins.  It also helps with circulation.  This can lead to clearer skin.  To get Vitamin B3 from your food, try eating avocados, eggs, lean meat, liver, and peanuts.</p>
<p>Vitamin E is sometimes warned against for people with acne because of its oily nature.  However, it is excellent at fighting the free radicals that can damage your skin.  You can get Vitamin E from almonds, broccoli, peanuts, sunflower seeds, vegetable oil, and wheat germ.</p>
<p>Zinc helps with your immune system.  If your immune system is in good repair, your acne is likely to lessen.  Get zinc from foods like eggs, mushrooms, nuts, and whole grains.</p>
<p>It is always important to drink plenty of clear water.  If you have acne, it is no different.  Your acne can get worse if you do not keep yourself hydrated.  It is a little thing if you keep it taken care of, but a big thing if you let yourself get dehydrated.</p>
<p>Most importantly of all, watch your own diet.  If you have acne, especially acne that comes and goes, keep a food diary of everything you eat.  Mark on the diary all the times your acne is at its best or at its worst.</p>
<p>With information about your own reactions to food at hand, you can determine what works for you.  This is important because what causes a breakout for one person may be perfectly fine for another.  You need to know your own condition, and not rely on someone else&#8217;s suggestions.</p>
